10-Speed Technic Gearbox
5 gears × 2 ranges = 10 speeds. Redoing the build guide with only my real parts.

// What I'm building
A LEGO Technic gearbox with 10 speeds: 5 gears × 2 ranges (high and low).
It shifts with driving rings and shifting forks, plus a range selector that doubles the 5 gears into 10.
I wanted illustrated build instructions, so I asked ChatGPT to draw a guide. The picture is just a concept, not a tested build manual.

Try #1 — the illustrated guide
- WHAT I TRIED
- Got an 11-step illustrated guide: frame, shafts, gear stack, driving rings, shifting forks, range rings, selector, motors, final assembly and testing.
- WHAT BROKE
- It uses parts I don't have! And it's only a concept: the gear spacing and shift links for all ten speeds weren't worked out.
- THE FIX
- Redo the guide using ONLY the parts I really have.
Try #2 — the real-parts guide
- WHAT I TRIED
- Laying out all my real gearbox parts.
- WHAT BROKE
- Nothing yet — still sorting parts!
- THE FIX
- Take one photo of my parts so the guide can be rebuilt from just those.
