// What I'm building

This is a test project, not a real build. It's here to check that the website pipeline works, and it will be deleted.

What it does: A cardboard ramp with three different-sized holes that sorts acorns (or pom-poms) into small, medium, and "chonky" cups as they roll down.

How it was built: A cereal box cut into a long ramp, three holes traced around bottle caps of different sizes, paper cups taped under each hole, and a googly-eye "squirrel inspector" glued at the top.

  1. Test #1 — first try

    WHAT I TRIED
    A cereal box cut into a long ramp, three holes traced around bottle caps of different sizes, paper cups taped under each hole, and a googly-eye "squirrel inspector" glued at the top.
    WHAT BROKE
    Every acorn skipped the holes and rolled straight off the end into the dog's water bowl. The googly eye also fell off and was never seen again.
    THE FIX
    Taped a popsicle-stick bump in front of each hole to slow the acorns down, and tilted the ramp a little less. Now about 8 out of 10 land in the right cup.
  2. Round 2 — update

    WHAT I TRIED
    Same cereal-box ramp from round 1, with the popsicle-stick bumps in front of each hole. For this update a second popsicle stick was stacked on each bump to make them "extra slowy-downy."
    WHAT BROKE
    The taller bumps worked too well. Instead of slowing down, the acorns hit them and launched straight up like tiny rockets, sailing over all three cups. One landed in a cereal bowl. The CHONKY cup stayed empty all afternoon.
    THE FIX
    Took the extra sticks back off and wrapped each bump in a strip of felt so it's soft and squishy. Acorns now bump, wobble, and drop in. Score went from 8 out of 10 to 9 out of 10, and the CHONKY cup finally got its first acorn.

  1. Round 2

    A cardboard ramp with three different-sized holes that sorts acorns (or pom-poms) into small, medium, and "chonky" cups as they roll down. This is an update to round 1.
